About car-breakers.net
car-breakers.net launched in 2007 as a directory just for UK breakers yards, back when finding a part meant ringing round every yard in the phone book. It ran until the mid-2010s, then the domain lapsed. We brought it back in 2026, rebuilt from the ground up.
Today it lists 2,247 breakers, vehicle dismantlers and scrap yards, each placed on the map so you can see the nearest to your postcode with real distances.
Where the listings come from
- Yards that add or claim their own listing.
- The Environment Agency’s public register of permitted waste sites, which includes the authorised treatment facilities permitted to scrap end-of-life vehicles in England (© Environment Agency copyright and/or database right).
- Companies House records for vehicle dismantling businesses.
- OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
We check websites and phone numbers regularly and take down businesses that have closed. If something’s wrong, email us or call 01623 272050.
Who runs it
